Episode of the record
In Japan, "The Record Geijutsu" is the biggest monthly journal for
classic music lovers.
In the January '97 issue of this journal in the page for "Reader's choice",
Schuricht/VPO('61) was chosen as the best CD for Bruckner's 9th symphony!
29 people voted for it.
(For reference, the 2nd was that by Giulini/VPO('88) voted by 17 people.)
Of course, I love this performance very much but I didn't put this into
"My favorites" because almost all the people know
this is very nice.
